The worst part of migraines is losing control of your life.

I’m not saying that the pain doesn’t matter – of course it does – but you could cope with the pain if it didn’t keep you from doing the things you want and need to do.

Losing control means you live in fear.

You live in fear of the next migraine attack, terrified of the horrible, debilitating pain. You live in fear of the times you have to be present, never knowing if migraines will let you show up. You even live in fear of the medications you have to take just to get on with life.

Even worse, you live with the fear that it might never go away.

You deserve better. You deserve to live your life free to do the things you love.

We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal;
that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights;
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

We are going to war. Here is your call to arms:

I won’t let migraines run my life forever.
This is my life and I deserve to be in control.

I will become healthy again, one small step at a time.
It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen.

I will fight this disease with every resource at my disposal.
It is within my power to conquer migraines.

I don’t know what is causing my migraines, so I will have to find out.
If nothing is working, I will keep trying until something does.

I am going to get healthy, so I can be productive and do the things I love.
I hereby declare war on migraines, and I won’t stop until I win

This is a fight for your freedom. The freedom to do the things you love. The freedom to make plans, spend time with family and friends, to be productive, happy, and healthy.

You are fighting for the freedom to live again. Never give up.
